The amino acid taurine is vital for heart health and is naturally present in meat and fish, especially organs. The Honest Kitchen started adding human grade taurine supplement to further boost the naturally existing taurine levels already present in their recipes. This formula has a taurine content of 0.15% on an as fed basis and 0.17% on a dry matter basis.

Gotten too expensive, and out of stock

Every time I order, the price has gone up. It costs about 1/4 of our monthly food budget now, and we eat basic, fresh foods, not expensive canned, bottled and processed food. They no longer carry the dehydrated grain free beef (my dog is super sensitive to eggs and chicken products and doesn't like the Base Mix), so I'm having to supplement with our own food as much as possible. I used to order once a month, but now have to order every other month. If prices go up any more, will not be able to afford it. That is, if it's even available much longer. A lot of businesses are failing because supplies are being blocked. I hate to see Honest Kitchen go under, but we sure don't see things getting better for the foreseeable future. I would give this product a 4 or 5 star ,except for price and availability.

Lots of Output

My dog likes this food about as well or maybe better than other food. The problem is that when she is eating this food, I have to take her out at least 4x a day. And, not to be graphic, but the volume of her output is not comparable to her output when eating other food. I believe this probably means this food has lots of indigestible solids. People might call that filler, or maybe it's what the dogs like about this food? Either way, I won't be purchasing it again because it's just not fun for any of us. We have had to start bringing 4 bags on our walks...

Excellent dog food

All 4 of my little dogs love this food! I've tried giving them other food to see if they prefer something else but they will only eat The Honest Kitchen kibble!

My dog LOVES this food

My dog loves this food and I can feel good about feeding it to him. It's so difficult these days to find food that is not only good for them, but safe to eat. I use to think it was only the cheap brands of food I needed to avoid, but that is not the case. Many times I have noticed how nasty kibble smells. I can only imagine the taste. This food is different. It smells good and he loves it. It's a win...win.

Misunderstood order

When I ordered the dog food, I thought I was getting the grain-free beef kibble for small dogs so was greatly disappointed when I opened the bag. I like the fast delivery as a positive.

Great new option for our Berners

Both our Dogs really liked this dry dog food. I like the ingredients and easy to keep in their bowls. The chicken seems to be in supply but the beef is hard to come by. My dogs are very picky and they love both the Beef and the Chicken

Best food for your dog

I swear by honest kitchen. All ingredents have to be clean enough to use in a human kitchen, which shows how clean it is! I don't love having any meat meal in my dog's food and this is one of the few dry foods I've found that doesn't have it. Plus, free shipping on Chewy. Highly recommend.

We like it

My dog likes this food. I also feed her the Honest Kitchen powder food with this kibble because dogs do need some grain in their diet. I like that I can trust my dog is getting good, balanced nutrition with Honest Kitchen. I also feed her their pour overs and treats, all of which she likes!

For picky eaters

My very picky eater gobbled this down. I have bought him different brands though the years: Purina, Diamond, Taste of the Wild, Merrick, Rachael Ray, Stella and Chewy (he did like this last one ok and ate it in one sitting). I have given him both cans and kibble, and he shows strong preference to this food. Honest Kitchen clusters, and Purina Beyond all beef and liver canned food, are the only foods I notice he eats with gusto. He does not wonder off the plate or has left overs when I feed both these foods. Also, this food does not have a strong dog food smell. It is a light, pleasant, and clean smell. In 3 years of having my dogs, I have not smelled a better dog food. The quality is very evident. Just try it and see for yourself. Chewy does offer refunds if the food did not work for you and you can donate it to a shelter. Order this food for your dog today!
